The Music of Adrienne Albert

Long a collaborator with other composers, Ms. Albert began composing her own music in the early 1990's. In less than a decade, her concert works have been performed throughout the United States, Europe, Thailand, and South Africa. Ms. Albert is currently Composer-In-Residence for both The Wagner Ensemble and The Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra. She has received consecutive ASCAP Awards for the past several years, has received several Margaret Jory Music Copying Assistance Program grants, and was chosen as a participant in the ASCAP/Film Scoring workshop in Los Angeles.

Description: Commissioned by Ivan Shulman and The Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra. A bold, powerful work, rhythmic and melodic with underlying snare drum military-like heartbeat. Particularly suitable for patriotic programming as well as an opener for most any concert.

WESTERN SUITE

Description: Commissioned by Ivan Shulman and The Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra, this work is a warm, colorful, tuneful programmatic piece describing the west in a Coplandesque style with interesting twists and turns. Moderate in difficulty, an outstanding trumpet player is needed.
